Welcome!  Best advice I have is to go to a clinic or private lessons.  My daughter-in-law went from the English world into team roping and barrel racing and has done pretty well.  Dressage and H/J really gives a person a good seat.  Her biggest challenge was to leave the horse alone to let them do their job.  That is the best advice I have at the moment.

Good Luck.

Welcome to the boards!  You will love it here....lots of great people who i'm proud to call my friends.  And welcome to the "dark side" of barrel racing.  HAHA  My only advice is to start by entering the slack at the rodeo if possible.  If your horse is competitive at the jackpot, he should be competitive at the rodeo, but I would ease him into the environment by entering the slack, then easing into a performance.  It can be alot for a horse to deal with if thrown right into the rodeo atmosphere, especially if you're not accustomed to it either.  Good luck and I hope you'll keep us posted!

Welcome! I would suggest hauling to  jackpots and D races so you can check everything out and get a feel for the sport :) Any specific questions feel free to post. Lots of people on here with good advice that dont mind answering.
