OT. Just curious if anybody has been thru this surgery. I am scheduled for end of the month. Advice, recocvery/PT time.
This does not sound fun, but has to be done. So any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance. Have a Blessed Day !!!

I tore my superior labrum in my left shoulder about 6 years ago. I had to have surgery and 3 anchors put in to hold it back together. Let me tell you...shoulder surgery is NOT fun!! The first week or so after surgery is PAINFUL!!
I was in a sling for 6-8 weeks, and then had a lot of physical therapy after that. Even though my doctor did not want me to, I was back to riding my safe, reliable horses in about 3 months. I was a police officer at the time, and was not able to go back to full duty till about 6 or 7 months post surgery.
The best advice I can give you is follow your doctor's orders better than I did. I moved 2 months post surgery, and thought my shoulder was ok. I lifted a lot more than I should have and am paying for it now. I will need surgery again some day, and this surgery will be worse than the last one. Needless to say...I am putting it off until I absolutely have to do it.

Thanks. Sounds like they may look deeper at my rotator cuff while they are in there. Also have a bicep archor pulling loose.
I appreciate the advice. Looks like my hoping to be back on a horse mid summer may be out of the question. I have gone thru 4 weeks of PT with them wanting to see progress. So maybe that will help it be a little stronger than without the PT. Good luck with having to got thru it again....
