False pregnancy in mares.....

Noticed my mare had a full " bag" today. Really firm to the touch but not sore what so ever. Thought it was weird. She has been on regumate since feb 1. Called my vet and she told me to go milk her and see if anything comes out. Sure enough, she milks clear/light yellow water like a hose! Lol the mare LOVED it when I milked her. You could tell it felt good. Collected a sample and sent picture to vet. Vet suspects she is having a false pregnancy from the regumate. She said to not milk her anymore so we don't encourage her to produce more. Lol. We are hoping it goes away in a week or so. Told me to cold hose. She does have " mini" heats even on regumate. I really hope I don't have to take her off of it cause she is so painfull with no regumate. Anyone else have a mare do this ?

That is not a false pregnancy. I had a mare do that a couple of times. She always did it in June. She got pretty tight. I could not run her because she was tender. Vet said she wanted to be momma. Are there any foals in the area by any chance?

lol might not have been meant for me but glad your ok!!! One teacher to another. And Yessssssssss my neighbors raise andalusions and they put all their mares and foals right over the fence from my mare!!!! She always paces and pays more attention to them when she comes in heat. She comes in the last week of the month. Which would be now. Lol. The regumate greatly reduces her symptoms and shortens her heats but she still comes in. lol she was just bucking and kicking feeling like a million bucks few minutes ago. Her udder is grestly reduced now so that's good.
