Have a Honda portable gen that I want to mount on the roof on the hayrack but concerned about the exposure to the elements and using it in rain... any tips?

You just don't see Honda's mounted on the roof because you would have to make a special protective box to put it in. It isn't made to be kept out in the weather. I haul my pair underneath my saddles in my collapsable tack area. Now as compared to an ONAN- those come with a cover and are hard wired into the trailer with no exposed electrical connections.

My father in law puts his on the roof when they go - but they take it down when they arenβt traveling, just use the tractor bucket to lift it up and down. They send my niece up when they get to the rodeo to plug it in.
