My first thought is strangles---could it be something else?  He hasn't been out of the pasture in about 18 months; none of the horses have been out of it in the last 2 to 3 months. . . Eating, bucking, running, normal acting-no nasal discharge or hard breathing, etc.   I don't believe he has a temp.  But he has 2 lumps between his jaws, fairly hard.   I felt a small scab between them but nothing major at all.  He doesn't mind if I rub them.

My gelding did that last year and one of them actually abscesses a little and went away. Kept coming back every few weeks so vet drew some fluid and it was positive for Actinomyces. I guess all horses have it in the GI tract. Round of antibiotics but still came back once In a while. Never affected his mood, temp , etc. I started him on colloidal silver and it cleared it right up and never came back.

What is that???

I do have a call in to my vet and also sent him these pictures. . . The knots aren't any different/larger than yesterday.  And Brownie is his normal self still.
