Location: Phoenix | I used to use bag balm on my hands...they would get so dry they would crack and bleed. Definitely took care of that..but seems thick for a face treatment! |

Location: OK | I've had several people say the mineral based foundation was a little hard on their skin. Mary Kay makes a heavy moisturizer for extra dry skin that I use at night. They also make a tinted lighter moisturizer with SPF, so it's like putting on base but it's sheer. There are different colors to match any skin tone. If you put powder over it it looks good. Maybe something to try during the day. |

I was a Clinique consultant 20 years ago and fell in love with the products. The girls that work those counters are sent away for training at least once or twice a year. For my age and the amount of sun and harsh winter my skin has seen I think my skin looks excellent especially when I compare it to friends that are the same age and live in the same conditions. |

| If you go into Estee Lauder and ask for some samples they will hook you up with all sorts of good stuff... even if you go with something else, the samples are great to keep in your purse or vehicle  |

Go and have a consult, it's amazing what they know, at least I hope you get a good consultant. I started with the 3 step, cleanser, toner and lotion and have since turned to the foaming face wash, different number toner and gel but I have oily skin, my point is that as you age, have babies etc, your skin changes so don't be afraid to make some changes as your body does. I always recommend clinique-I'm an addict. |

Location: MD | going to sound a little strange. but I get dry patches on my face around my chin, nose and cheeks. it was getting so bad so now I use an exfoliating face scrub every other day. then as soon as you get out of the shower PAT your face dry and immediately apply lotion and I apply a lot of it and don't rub it in, just enough so it isn't dripping off of you and let it soak in while you're drying off and getting dressed. it's helped me immensely and my face doesn't have strange dry patches anymore! winter is usually a killer on my skin |

Location: OK | On that subject, instead of using a harsh abrasive scrub or pad, the brushes that they sell that rotate that everybody is buying right now, what they basically are is a baby brush with those extra soft bristles on a rotating head. In a pinch, you might use a baby brush, the ones for newborns, and exfoliate with that.
I have the rotating brush, and I LOVE it....and, you can wash it and actually get it CLEAN unlike those pads. |

| MAC Moisturizer is my favorite!
Along with their BB Cream.
I usually use the moisturizer at night, and during the day I use the BB cream, with just a touch of powder to set it. |

I use Oil of Olay with SPF 15 in it year round for the daytime. At night I wash my face with just water on a washcloth, as hot as I can stand it and no soap of any kind. Then I use a heavier night cream from Oil of Olay for sensitive skin. I always put lip stuff on at night too. My favorite is in a little blue tube from Bath & Body works called My Favorite Night Balm from C.O. Bigelow. I am well over 40, and tend to have very dry lizard like skin and this all works very well for me.
Using the hottest water you can may actually be contributing to your problem.
Your skin is naturally oily (obviously) and by taking long, hot showers/washing your face will melt the oils right off your skin - effectively drying it out. Another thing that's going to help is *GASP* drinking water! Healthy skin starts from the inside out. If taking short, colder showers and drinking water doesn't help, I also like cocunut oil. |

Good advice and also I would recommend the 7 Day Scrub. Its a great and safe exfoliator. A lot of scrubs are made from crushed apricot seeds that have sharp edges and can damage your skin. Clinique uses round beads that exfoliate without causing damage. Just my 2 cents worth. |

This is exactly where my dry spots are. It's awful. I will try this after my shower now. |

| Rodan + Fields has a great hand regimen for dry skin and it has spf in it. Also have a regimen for dry and sensitive skin...pm me for more info. |

| I just started using L'occitane and have seen amazing results. I also have dry skin and I have tried everything from Mary Kay, Olay, Clinique, Lancôme, and estee lauder and they all would burn my face. I started using the L'occitane two weeks ago and the dry bumps and peeling look is gone. It lasts all day on my face and I have also noticed my skin tone has evened out. I use the Ultra Rich Face Cream and some serum I put on before it that opens the pores up but I'll have to look and see what it is called I can't remember. It is expensive but it works and I don't have to use a whole lot. I only have to apply once compared to others. |
