From an inside note from a well known breeding facility, he ships awful and they always have trouble settling a mare. If I was going to breed this year, I'd be looking at JL Dash Ta Heaven at $3500, Epic Leader at $4500 or even Blazin Jetolena.
so you're going to overlook one supposedly bad shipper for another supposedly bad shipper?
seems strange but aight
You're right, I guess I just named them because they are 20 miles from me so I don't have to ship, the cooled collection is a little better if I just took the mare to brazos. |

Goodbye Lane has a uniquely shaped head. He throws all kinds but mostly nice heads. Like my friend Dena Kirkpatrick said who is winning on a GBL " we are not in halter glass" And GBL is out a DTFmare so a course head is going to come out here and there. Dena told me at least 5 years ago when she went to see him to breed my mares to him. The prices of GBL horses have increased dramatically - it has been awhile since I have seen one for 6,500 ..... years in fact.
Epic Leader has been under new management - one of my best friends had no problem getting a foal from him and breed back succesfully.
Horses are not pieces of equipment. Each situation is different. Be mindful that there may be someone reading this who believes everthing the read on the internet. Do you own homework before deciding what legit and what is not. My source of this was Dena herself since she introduced me to GBL many years ago.
How many GBL have won over $100k excluding Pink Buckle winnings? What are the names, and how much have they won?
High Cotton Lane would be one of his winningest. Dena's has won plenty more outside of Pink Buckle $$$. Vauna Walker's, Kelsey Hayden's "BuhBye"... You can find their stats easily. Actually I'll make it easier for you - there is a flyer right on their homepage that shows some of the accomplishments, there are plenty underneath the Pink Buckle titles. https://www.thegoodbyelane.com/
I am not sure why many want to discredit slot race or high paying race credentials. There is a lot of pressure put on horses for those kind of events, and that's the kind of horse I want to be mounted on. . . . one that can withstand pressure. |

Location: Texas | I absolutely LOVE my Goodbye Lane colt from this year. He is perfect. His conformation, even at his tiny age, is spot on. His head, BEAUTIFUL. And if it wasn't, I wouldn't care because a long head will break the timer faster anyway LOL. He has an excellent personality, gosh I love him so much! He's the only foal we have had where I have had offers to buy him in utero and as soon as he hit the ground. I can't bring myself to part with him. I will attach pics in a minute! He is out of a Reckless Dash X Leavem Lucille mare.

Thank you Gail.. I myself think The GoodBye Lane is one HANDSOME fella and would LOVE to have a son/daughter out of him, I really think hes a looker and does turn heads

Me too! That's why I originally wanted to breed to him.
I dont think you could ever go wrong breeding to The Goodbye Lane, I have never heard anything bad about his off spring its always good and how much they love them. I really think hes got a cool shaped head and it fits his body nicely, I have found the ones with a uniguely shaped head always had the best personality with a little goofy way to them. Good luck with who ever you go with, |

Making comments about a stallions alleged shipping and fertility on a public forum is inappropriate in my opinion. There are so many factors that go into a mare conceiving or not conceiving. Also, I've had good success with breeding multiple mares to him, on one shipment each. So, if someone had a bad experience it could have been a temporary blip. I just feel like any "inside information" is best to just go straight to the source and ask them. Being in the breeding business myself, comments like these are unfair and can even be hurtful. Not trying to start a fight or anything. I just know how it feels to be on the receiving end. |

Epic has terrible semen as well. Jl Dash Ta Heaven is priced good at $3500, except what happens if he sells in a couple weeks??
We flushed our FG mare and got an embryo by Epic Leader with no issues. We had to breed twice but it was not his fault- she hemorrhaged her first follicle. Although I had heard bad stories in the past, i decided to try him for myself. The management he is under now has done wonders for him IMO, and the whole experience was a good one. |

8 days give or take. He was up here so we could breed his dam on foal heat. He is such a good boy!! Wish we had more foals this year so he wasn't an only child. But 2021 we have 3 confirmed on the way! |

| Poor semen doesn't equate to a poor experience. It only takes 1 sperm cell. |

You know what I mean. I still stand by what I said earlier. If someone has a concern about any stallions performance, give the stallion owners the courtesy of a real conversation. |

I remember a fg/dtf stud a few years back. The stud was super well bred, one of the first of that cross. The owners took a stallion repro class and considered themselves very good at managing shipped semen. Several people I know bred to him. The semen always showed up at in the 20-30% motility, with debris in the shipment. The stallion owner was not going to let anybody trash them or their stallion and filed some libel suits. The problem was that it was the truth. Same with any stallion. No mare owner should be surprised and stuck in a contract because they didn't ask and nobody said anything. Especially on high dollar stallions. If I know something, I dont have a problem sharing it. Hearsay on the other hand is inapropriate as you pointed out earlier.

I had to deal with a semen issue last year. First shipment - same day shipment on a normal collection day - came in with -0- live sperm. My mare was at one of the countries top repro facilities and Dr. Dipert is one top repro vet (yay Kevin!). Dr. Dipert was so frustrated with the shipment that he gave an hour of his time looking for at least one live swimmer and found none. He handled the issue with the station where the stallion was. Now I have bred through that station facility with at least one other stallion and had a great experience and outcome. They are also a good breeding facility in TX. So my vet talked to those vets and from the info provided from those vets it seems the stallion in question was having issues. We barely got my mare in foal last year and still awaiting the birth. The stallion owner was contacted to see if she was aware of the issues and she was not receptive to the information at all. I know aging stallions can have issues and their collection and shipments have to be handled differently. But when the owner is resistant to that information and need then that is what irritates me. It's not like word won't spread - we barrel peeps do tend to share experiences! |

Location: Muskogee, OK | I LOVE him... was fully set on breeding to him this year but the $3000 stud fee jump was a little too much for me to swallow. Shoulda jumped on him last year, but didnt think they'd raise the fee as high as they did and wanted to give my mare a year off. Went with Slick By Design this year instead... |
