docschic - 2014-03-01 5:00 AM We always try to keep the names to 1 syllabel because when calling their name it's easier and that's what a trainer told us to do back in the day.  That being said our female black labs' registered name is Front Paige FireCracker Max and we call her Paige.  My husband wanted to name her Sioux (as in the UND Fighting Sioux) and something with Sioux in her registered name but me being a diehard NDSU Bison I wouldn't allow it.  LOL  Our male choc. lab is registered as Ladys Chocolate T-Rex and we call him Rex.

So female and germanic:

Elsa

Anja

Gabi

Jana

Pia

Mila

Anka

Beatrix or Bea for short

Great names but none of them are one syllable lol  Sorry, it's the teacher in me comig out counting syllables.

We breed GSPs and I love them. Hubby wants to get a wire haired pointer too but I am a bit reluctant due to their reputation as being not as good natured as the GSPs. Different breed entirely.

Good luck with your girl, I love some of the German names. I love Greta but yes, it may be too overused if you are wating something unique. Garbo maybe? GG as in Greta Garbo.
