PHT magnetics all the way.  Don't skimp on the cheap stuff.  I try stuff on me before they go on my horses.  I honestly felt the difference when I used PHT whereas I bought a BOT shirt and didn't feel a thing.  Now I have a $50 black tshirt.  I also can feel the difference in my horses, especially my gelding when he's wore his PHT blanket.  He injured himself 3 years ago and I couldn't ever get him quite right again.  Last year I won 3 qualifiers for the BRF so I thought I'd give him a whirl.  I faithfully used his PHT blanket at home this winter, started legging him up in February.  I made my first run on him in 3 years at the BRF and he did amazing.  Even in the old days we were lucky to be in the 4D at local stuff so I wasn't sure he could compete with the big dogs and be in the 5D at such a huge event.  The old man ended up making super nice runs in the 3D.  I was amazed and I owe it to PHT.  I'm anxious for the EHV crap to be over so I can continue to run him.

Blanket wise I feel PHT is more versatile. I do have some BOT items for myself and a pad liner for the horse and I do notice a difference, but not enough to makes choose a bot blanket over PHT.

See, I'm the opposite...I had PHT for years and didn't notice much of a difference.  Whenever I'd have an injury I'd wrap myself up hoping to notice a difference only to be disappointed.  A few months ago, I bought a BOT wrist wrap for my tendonitis and was shocked at the comfort I received.  I sold all my PHT and now my horse is wrapped in BOT products and has never felt better.

Moral of the story, buy one, try it, if you don't like it, sell it and try the other.  Both hold their value really well, you can't lose.
