Has anyone tried this bit? I got a strong horse when she gets to running, reining broke when shes not. I am a light handed rider and having a hard time getting her to whoa. She don't blow barrels but I need to feel like I'm in control.

I have the short shanked one of these, I had a lot of shoulder control, but this bit packs a lot of bite and can be very severe in the wrong hands

I have used her bits before but not that one. I like them- they have a nice weight to them, no jagged areas and the diameter, not to thick or too thin

I have to disagree that this bit in particular can be very severe in the wrong hands, maybe you didn't mean for it to sound that way, but any bit can be severe in the wrong hands. This bit is actually very forgiving because the chain is thick- and it has rubber stoppers on the end so it won't pinch or bite. I love this bit on my free running horse- I get rate and lift- and it totally releases when you let go the pressure- it's not a bear trap like some others I've seen for free running horses. I've used it alot on a variety of horses with success.
eta: there is nothing about it that looks like it would bite to me-

not one of these, but my fixed Ed Wright Medium shank bit works well for me with that type of horse.
