How often do you feel you should have it done on your horse for it to be effective? For both general wellness and/or the older horse
(primarily preventative
).

I think it really has to do with how well the individual horse reacts to the procedure. Some get along fine with one treatment and others need more treatments. I had my horse done last fall because he was having some flexing issues and a sore back. I noticed a great improvement in him within a week of his first treatment. When I see any of his signs return, I will have him done again.

I have mine done every 6-8 weeks. Seems to work for us.

It just depends on the horse. If there are no problems then about 8 weeks.
I had a mare fall at the 3rd barrel in August and had a lot of issues to deal with. She got 8 weeks off then we ended up having to inject her whorl bone and she got acupuncture done at 2 week intervals for 6 weeks, then every 4 weeks, then back to 8.

I had it done years ago on a horse that had limited motion in his left hind ankle. Worked great.
