It is about time to break apart all the headstalls and bridles for a heavy cleaning. What cleaning product/oil do you prefer? Any tips for making it an easier process?

I use good ole saddle soap, I forget the band but it's in a black and yellow tin and you can get it at TSC. Then I condition it. I've used several and never noticed much of a difference. Olive oil works. I don't have any mice in my barn so I don't worry about that. Neatsfoot, leather therapy, absorbine, etc. I know the dressing from Caldwell is popular but I've never tried it.

Lexol and Blackrock. If you can do it outside on a sunny day that will make everything soak in better. The sun will warm up the leather and help the oil soak in deeper. If you cleaning anything with conchos take them off first. To clean conchos
(depending on the type
) you can clean them with silver cleaner or if there blingy warm water with a couple drops of dish washing liquid and a soft tooth brush or cloth. Make sure to get all the soap off good or it will make them look dull.
Not stealing your thread but I want to know how people clean bead work.
