Would a broken saddle tree contribute to hock soreness? Had a mare last year that came up real hock sore and got her injected. The next run she blew up so I hauled her back. She was still sore but now more back sore. After trying some other things I eventually found the tree in my saddle had cracked. Do I go ahead and get her injected this year to start off right or was my whole problem the saddle tree? I obviously have a new saddle this year :

There is a small chance the saddle could be a contributing factor, as the horse was probably using their body differently to avoid/alleviate the pain from the pinching saddle.
Did you do X-rays? If you didn't do X-rays, I would start there and see what damage you are dealng with, then inject.
If there is no signs of arthritis, via xray, I would inject one more time to reduce the inflammation
(HA is one of the best antiinflammatory agents, better then bute/banamine/previcoxx without the side effects
).
If there is signs of arthritis, expect to inject every 3 months

How is she riding now? Still having issues? If she is riding and working ok, personally I would wait on the injections if she is working ok. You can always get them later if needed. JMO.

Quite a few years ago I had a tree break and it took awhile to figure out. It had pretty much completely wrecked my horses back. It took a lot of chiro and time off to get him back. He was very sore throughout and if I hadn't ruled out hocks before the this happened I quite possibly would've looked at his hocks. I would say get the back feeling better and go from there unless you had seen something pointing to hocks otherwise.

Stifles contribute to back soreness nor hocks
