Painting walls in living quarters

The walls and cabinets are really dark in my living quarters. I do not mind the dark wood cabinets but I think the walls should be a shade lighter. Can they be painted or do you have any other ideas?

Not sure what your walls are covered with now...but I painted the walls in our rv...they were wood paneling-they turned out great! However...I didn't prime them before I painted and if you try to scrub something off the wall the paint fades off too...so maybe use chalkboard paint first to give the walls some texture and help with the paint lasting longer.

Many are usually wall papered.. I would check to see what they are first and if not ask the person/dealer you got it from what material is used on the wall so you know what to paint it with.
