Extreme Veteran Posts: 306 Location: Albany, Georgia	For those of you who ride a lot of horses a day, how do you manage your time in the most efficient way to get everything done including barn chores and all!

Owner of a ratting catting machine Posts: 2258	The people that I've seen really make this happen get up early and turn the lights on, and go to bed late and turn the lights off. I think that lights are going to make all the difference in that game.

Twin Sister to Queen Boobie Posts: 13315 Location: East Tennessee but who knows?!	I work full time and have a 45 minute commute. Most mornings I'm up at 3:30-4am to get non-horse stuff done and usually feed and do stalls by 6:30. (1 hour) We have 8-9, with 6-7 in stalls. Sometimes my husband will help and do stalls in the afternoons. He does pm feed & turn out (15 min). If I want to ride, I do stalls in the morning. I get home at 6, and I usually will be able to ride 2 or ride 1 and lunge 2. I allot about 2 hours to riding. I'll also pony some too. I do think it helps to have a solid routine and look for ways to.make everything easy and quick, and keep every thing as close together as you can so you're not walking and making a million trips. I feed out of a wheelbarrow that I load up. That saves a good bit of time. For those that need their feed wet down, I'll put water in their buckets when I'm going through watering prior to feeding. Extreme Veteran Posts: 306 Location: Albany, Georgia	I have 7 that need riding and a weanling and late 2 yr old that needs tying and all that good stuff. Luckily I have a job that I work from 7:30am until approx 2-3 everyday. Sometimes I can get out earlier, sometimes a little later, so i have plenty of time. But I was just curious how others made it work. Most of mine stay turned out for the most part so that eliminates stall cleaning to a minimum, but going out and catching does take up time, but thank goodness for the Polaris!!
