| Mark 2:10-11 Jesus said to the man, I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.
The hardest part of challenges is getting started, the first step of action. It marks a crucial turning point. The challenge of the first step is a timeless one, and it applies to faith.
God does a great deal to carry us through life. However, E does require that we take that initial step in faith, even when the challenge ahead seems insurmountable.
Consider His instruction to His people on the brink of receiving the Promised Land. Joshua 3. He was ready to part the Jorsan river so they could cross. However, they needed to step out in faith before He cleared the obstacle at flood stage ,no less. As soon as the priests set foot in the Jordan, it's waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap. Those waters were dangerous, but the people needed to make the first difficult move in faith that ahe would deliver them.
How about,the paralytic Jesus healed Mark 2:10-11? In order to experience healing, the man had to act in faith by obeying Jesus' instruction to get up and walk. How easy it would have been for him to give the excuse, But I can't Jesus. The man had many more reasons to doubt Jesus than to believe Him. but all he needed was a mustard seed of faith to stand.
Jesus is your mustard seed reason, too! Accept the challenge, and then step out in faith and find out Jesus is enough.
The first step is yours to take.
It's easy to get in our comfort zone, keep things the same, but later in life,we realize we are in a rut, and it's hard to climb out to take risks. But it's really up to us, to make that step to change things.
Father God, guide me today to do all things that bring glory and honor to You. Father, lay your hand of protection, as I travel today in town going to doctor, paying taxes, other errands. Lay Your hand ove all the tornado , snow storm victims. My heart goes out to them. The homeless in all our towns, Thank God for our local churches going out to make sure they have food and places to stay its 21 degrees here this morning. I'm going to buy more groceries for the man and boy in need using my birthday money. AMEN
