Where is he sore??

So my newer horse has been very reluctant to pick up his right lead. He rides around swishing his tail. He has been a litle crow hoppy leaving the barrels..however this could be just being fresh becouse he rides out of that. But the other day i was running my fingers over his hip and down over the point of buttock and down the hamstrings. He was extremely flinchy!! I have not noticed this in him before as I am pretty attentive to things out of the ordinary. I was not really pressing hard either. Previous owners gave instructions to inject hocks once a year. He is 19 and has a solid record. He had his hocks done in early spring and has only beed to a handful of rodeos due to my work schedule and lack of funds to go. Im hoping he just needs his hocks again..but the flinching over the hamstrings/buttock makes me wonder. I will try to attach a video shortly. What are ya'lls thoughts?

High on the semitendinosus = hip or stifle, usually stifle.
Low on the semitendinosus = hocks

sometimes if hocks are bad it can go up to stifle..but usually injections last 6 months tops so id have vet look at his hocks again to.. might be time , it really doesnt matter how often you hauled him.. if they are fusing they will be painful and if tails swishing and bunny hopping id look at them and stifles..hes definatly sore so Id not be working him until you get him sound, his hocks look really sore IMO
