| I have an older horse who is prone to ulcers. He had been getting alfalfa pellets, beat pulp, and flax. However, he does not love it. He has never been a huge fan and will waste some of it. I switched him to Triple Crown Senior and he loves it! He has filled out a ton in his topline and looks great. I figured it would be ok to feed since the first ingredient is alfalfa, beet pulp, etc. Similar to what I’ve been feeding. A friend of mine however said any processed grains are still bad and while he looks good it may not be good for a horse with a history of ulcers. I’m looking for opinions. Has anyone fed an ulcer prone horse this grain? Here is also a list of the ingredients, would like opinions on that as well. Thanks!!!

| I have used TC senior for years on some horses. It’s one of the best feeds you can give IMO. It’s jist difficult to get where I am now. Purina also makes ultium gastric care In the purple bag. It is also great. I would just keep your feeding amount to the least you need. The TC is a complete feed so has all the fiber and can be fed as the sole ration for horses. | |

Their mill burnt down and they started having other companies mill their feed and they started having a lot of problems. I tried numerous times and the consistency was terrible and I gave up. I will never buy another bag of their feed. | |

And that depends on where in the country you are and where it is milled. We have used it only for several years and the quality and consistency has not changed one iota.
To the OP, tell your friend that TC Senior is NOT a grain .... that is why it works so well for so many. It also has the Tri Aminos that many of these horses need, but you do have to feed more to get the amount that TC30 has. But for older horses or working horses - I don't think it can be beat. IF you are getting inconsistent bags, and yours is milled by Purina for instance - I would contact TC directly & let them know your concerns. I think if enough people that are not happy with that mill complain, they will do something about it. | |

| I love TC Senior for the right horses. Its super low NSC so shouldn't upset ulcers. Luckily it's easy for me to get and the quality has always been consistent. | |
