Does anyone have the sliding barn doors in your home? Did you build them yourself? Please post pictures. And any tips would be helpful! Pros and Cons? Thanks!

The hardware will run you $100-$300 depending on the "look" ..
A very simple designed wood stained door pre-made >$500 …
so you better learn some simple woodworking skills and build your own.
The sliding doors only give you visual privacy.
With very poor safety vs a fitted door.

Very pretty but I had a toddle push it right off the hinges. Not great for children.

I have one my husband made from an old barn on our new place. Its a pantry door, single slide. I bought the hardware off amazon for 80.00 vs the 350.00 you'll pay at home depot, etc. And its heavy duty, definitely worth the money. We rigged it up so you can not lift it up off the tracks without taking it all apart so our babies cant push it off or up off the track. Id post a pic but have a heck of a time getting them to load/show up. I kept it raw so its the old barn wood look. Got on pinterest to find the angles I wanted it cut to make it a door.
We also used the rest of the barnwood and lined our entire basement great room in barnwood. I used corrugated metal for the ceiling. Love it! My husband on the other hand is done with wood projects.
