I am thinking of a new saddle this year. My four year old is now four and still a shrimp (14.2) so I'd like her own saddle for next year. I have a Shiloh Jordan Peterson that I like but I know that is a long wait for a new one and its a little big for her. I've always wanted a Coats. I need something that helps me sit deep, and will work on a smaller horse. Suggestions?

I love my Shiloh but have never rode a coats. If you like your shiloh just be on the lookout for a used one or go ahead and wait for a new one.

Coats builds a higher quality saddle IMO and I have owned both brands. They typically fit the quarter horse built horses better, not so much the high withered TB type physique. I would make a decision based on her overall shape.

I ran an appendiQH in a handmade Coats. Larry made it to fit a wide mutton withered horse. It fit them both. You can’t go wrong with a Coats.

Coats for sure.  Larry will do whatever he can to ensure that you and your horse are happy with your saddle.  His customer service can't be beat.
