I feed Nutrena Complete to the grown horses.  It's 12/3 - alfalfa based, with some grain in it.  The horses have done really well with it, and I like feeding a forage based feed.  For the horses that need a few more calories, I throw in some rice bran.  My mare and baby get a Junior feed (16%) and alfalfa.

I was feeding a fairly expensive feed that was 14/5. Guaranteed formula. My horses started looking horrible. My horses at the trainer always look sensational. I called my trainer and asked what she feeds. I changed to Lonestar Allstock pellets. Which is a 12/4. I throw in a handful of rice bran and a splash of vegetable oil (soybean) from Walmart. I was feeding Cocosoya which is predominately soybean. Horses look so much better. Feed is about $10 a bag. Veg oil at Walmart is about $5.75 a gallon as opposed to $19.95 for the cocosoya.

I'm currently feeding a 12%protein 10% fat 20% fiber and 11%NSC feed I'm very happy with. Horses look good, act right and dont need a bunch of it to maintain. I do add 1oz of forco and the older horse gets 8oz of supersport once a day for extra topline support.
