I’ve got a coming 2 year old (March) who has some long pasterns. I’ve never owned a horse with long pasterns before, any tips/advice on how to make sure she stays sound in the long run?

I have one that I think has yours beat! Makes them smoothhhh to ride but I do worry sometimes. Mine is currently 6 years old and I have owned him since a yearling. I would like to hear other's input. I will see if I can find a photo!

A friend barrel racer had a mare long in the pastern.  She was rodeoed on pretty hard and had no issues.

Yep, she was a smooth rider.  Nothing worse than one super short in the pasterns.  Hit the ground like a ton of bricks.

I have a long pastern horse. I try to not work him a lot on deep ground and he prefers to not work in deep ground. I do work him on deep ground , just not everyday.

I have one with longer pasterns too and its different for me.  I have not ridden her yet as I'm a chicken and live in MN.  She is a 3yo and will be going to the trainer this spring.  I love her to pieces though!
