Did anyone else try the 21-Day Hind Gut program, and their horse really hated it? I can hardly get my mare to eat the Fish Oil Factor. I have tried different things to get her to eat it, but she avoids it the best she can. I have tried adding some oil (Healthy Coat) to make it better and that has helped some but not much.

Don't blame her. I avoid fish oil too.

I've done the 21 day hind gut on one of my geldings and had all three horses on the fish oil factor. I think I started with like 1/4 scoop and had to work up to it, but they would like their buckets clean. The only trouble I had with the 21 day program was with the pastes. My gelding does not like synringes in his mouth like that. It doesn't matter if it tastes good or not. He wants nothing to do with it.

Im the opposite! The pastes were no problem at all. She FINALLY will eat it now on day 17, but I have to mix it in with Healthy Coat oil and stir it really well.

I couldn't afford the program, so I asked the stride rep what could I do in the interim till I could buy the whole thing. She suggested I use the ADR paste and switch this horse to the procare. I used 4 tubes of the ADR and put my mare on the procare and am very pleased. I still plan on trying the 21 day program when I can swing it.
