thats what happens when brent gets hit with a brain fart...lol

I have the perfect solution....

www.honeybaked.com  Fantastic meals for 2  just heat and serve and THEY do taste like homemade
And OMG.....it will be the best Thanksgiving meal you've ever had!  If we had one here locally that is definitely what i'd do!  Their ham and their turkey are to die for!!!  Plus, you can get all of your sides there too and voila, dinner is served!

Hey girlie...you need to be in that kitchen cooking all day like the rest of us!!!  Lol  With just the two of us this year, maybe a visitor or two I am still making the who T-Day dinner.  Wish we were coming to Texas.

Oh you know i'm going to have to anyway.  Hubby is all fired up about smoking a ham and turkey in that new smoker.  He's also reeeeeally wanting to make a pecan pie from scratch using our own pecans....i'm out on that.  I'm in charge of mashed potatoes and stuffing.  LOL

I wish ya'll were coming too....the invitation stands!

F Bar - 2014-11-18 3:35 PM Going traditional nothing too fancy . Turkey , Ham , Mashed potatos & turkey gravy , green bean casserole w/ prosciutto & mushrooms, salad , rolls and cranberry sauce . This year I'm going to try making a cornbread stuffing with country gravy that I saw on The Chew. Pumpkin pie & a berry pie are also a must. Not sure how I'm going to time everything , we only have a single oven.
Go buy you a convection oven, around $120, you can cook your casseroles in it or pies.
I have an electric roaster that I've baked cakes and pies in when I've had something else in my oven.  Its cheap, less than $50, and it really comes in handy.

That is a great idea ! We will have to grab one.
We have a nice smoker I was hoping to do something in but I'm not sure if we could get away with doing Turkey in that , I'll have to google ! Would be a good excuse to spend some time outside since everyone is bringing their own dogs here on top of it all....

We are also having dinner the night before at one side of the families and I insisted on bringing the green bean casserole...my question is do you bring it made but not cooked yet or do you cook it ahead when at someone elses house?

Made but not cooked yet is how I use to do it.

That is what I was thinking . I'd hate for it not to be fresh , just felt weird using their oven if they had things planned out.!

I saw that they did a beer can Turkey on the grill.
Has anyone had any experience with putting the Turkey on your grill instead of the oven? I may be missing something but they did lemon , a dry rub , stuffed it on a beer can and then poured beer in a tray under it and cooked it for 3 hours?

My ex-father in law did one on the grill one time and it was delicious!

OT-I noticed you are located in North Idaho. Whereabouts?
