sharpone - 2017-09-26 9:46 PMSorry haven't responded, been very busy. More info. She was blown up bad when I got her, spent the last two years slow working and trying to figure her out. I only had stifles and hocks xrayed. Didn't scope for bleeding. I really think she may just have my number. If a man jumps on her she is fairly good at the gate. I only ran her a handful of times the first year because I felt like mentally she needed a break. I'm just hoping we aren't missing a physical issue. Yes, she also will run into people if I am not careful. She does not walk in with another horse, I wish! Hidez mask, no good. She is great on the pattern and a real barrel hunter. I hate this issue!
X-ray the feet, treat for ulcers,x-ray the back.what did you do for ovaries?ultrasound???? I don't think the hind gut got proper testing for ulcers??personally I believe you are missing a pain problem, also scope for bleeding.

JcNhEmI - 2017-09-25 6:37 PM If you've ruled out pain, and she is doesn't do it with another ride then she's got your number and is bullying you. Kick her ass and show her you're the boss!

I kinda agree with this, but before you get aggressive with her, I'd recommend poppin a Xanax and seeing if you being calm changes anything. Especially if you're 100% certain she's sound and she doesn't do it with other riders.

Sorry, WiFi has been down. First thing at vet was failed flex test on left front fetlock. We opted for full body scan due to several positive reactions for pain. Arthritis in upper hock joint as well as lower. Right one being the worst. We believe this was causing stifle and si pain as those xrays were clean. However vet is more worried about fetlock sincexsincexray doesn't show anything. If it flair up again in the spring or the winter off doesn't heal, we will do mri. Treatment plan is off until spring then we will do osphos and inject upper and lower hocks and see if this helps. Praying the fetlock is not serious as he thinks we can handle the hocks. Then of course comes the mental part as I believe this has been going on for a while and missed by previous vets or it has got really bad in a short amount of time. This is the 3rd time I have xrayed shocks in 2 years. Right now she is done riding through winter, getting msm, sore no more on hocks, fetlock, hips and stifles, wearing bot wraps, sheet and hock boots for a short while each day and poultice occasionally and cold hosing. So a little pray and any advice would be appreciated. I love this mare!

Lol this is the 3rd vet, 4th trip this year. 4 trips to chiropractor. we just couldn't determine if it was pain or attitude. Unfortunately I know of 2 other horses that wouldn't go near the gate, but put a man on them and all was well. Only to find out later they both had a serious issue. Horses! So wish they could talk!!

I'm so glad she has you and you're willing to do the work to help her out. I hope the time off helps her and next year is better for both of you

Thanks! Me too, I love thismare and know what she is capable of. She is built to last, but of course anything can happen. Great confirmation, good bone and weighs in at 1220lbs at almost 15.1 hands and the sweetest mare ever. Keep the good thoughts coming.
