One of my geldings really puffs up in the throat latch/jaw area when it's really windy. I don't have a barn yet to keep him up :(
Is there any supplements or natural aide to give him relief?

Do you know it's allergies for sure? Have you gotten an allergy trest done on him? My mare is currently on allergy shots for her allergies.

He was at the vet last week and we did tests... Nothing really found out so I'm sending off hair to a gal who tests then for allergies and imbalances
It has to be though, it only occurs when the wind blows like crazy

Let me know what you find out.  I have a mare that will puff up like that certain times of the year, but only in the pasture.  If I stall her, even for just a few hours, the swelling will go down.  She does seem to cough during the times of the year she gets puffy and she will cough even when the swelling is down.

I know MSM didn't help at all, considering trying Lung Aid for a couple of months this summer to see if it helps.  My vet didn't seem too concerned and she is not running now, so I haven't done any allergy testing yet.

Barnmom - I am not far from you in Lafayette and I have a gelding that swells up during this time of the year when on grass.  His swelling will also go down when I put him up in a stall and he does cough some during different times of the year.  I keep him on Spirulina and will put him on a low dose of dex when he starts coughing.  I do run him on clembuteral.  I am really curious about the Lung Aid and have inquired about it.

What kind of tests did they do? Blood and sent off to a lab?

I'm dealing with allergies right now with my mare. Just got her allergy shots. I did run her on ventipulmin and did a treatment with dex and ventipulmin and had her on sulpha tabs until her shots got here. She is allergic to 30 different things!
