so ive got a tail chewer...

So my 3 year old is chewing tails.. any suggestions on how to get to stop ?? Muzzles ?? Oh and BTW He LOVES hot sauce and hot pepper he literally eats it out of the container. So any suggestions ? He is on an General all In one mineral. Can he be missing something else ?

Spray the other horses manes and tails with vinegar. It's always worked for me. It won't burn them like pepper can.

We had a few of those on a place I worked at... They switched to Dynamite Minerals and it stopped....Otherwise.. Maybe some counseling.. He might be jealous.

I have one and keeping a white salt brick in his feed bucket helped out alot, and he gos threw a brick about ever 3 weeks, he loves them.

A 3yr old may have a mineral problem but mine was weanlings/yearlings and think it was just them being babies.

Well I have only had him for about 3 weeks now and started him right when I got him and he chewed the tail the first week I had him home so I am hoping that now that he is getting the minerals into him that he will stop.
