I am a Freak Posts: 3326 Location: Nowhere Special	Could anyone recommend an affordable insurance company for insuring an older horse? (19 years old) I check with Hallmark whom I have my others insured with and its going to run $2200 a year, wondering if I couldn't find it cheaper somewhere else but its hard to find places that will insure this old of a horse

No Tune in a Bucket Posts: 2935 Location: Texas	Cannot really help with insurance, but I would probably just start a saving account with the $2200 a year to purchase a new horse in the event of something happens. If you put that much aside per year, you could have a nice starting nest egg for a new purchase.

Elite Veteran Posts: 926	Wow, the 3% is a deal. I'm insuring an older horse and it get's very pricey, so I ended up dropping the standard plan and going with an accident type. On this 3% who is the company? It sounds too good to be true because the risk obviously goes up on an older horse.

Elite Veteran Posts: 678 Location: Canada	I use Henry Equestrian insurance. I am in Canada but had to find a US insurance policy a while ago and was quoted a very similar rate. You can call HEP as they may have a US division they can quote you on.
