Expert Posts: 2276 Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :)	SO got in a wreck with the truck last sunday. its sitting at a shop while we wait to figure out if they are going to total it or not. im wondering if they give rental trucks? now that our truck isnt driveable we have no way of moving our hay, doing firewood or hauling the horses. they expect it to be at least 4 weeks before we get our truck back if it isnt totaled out. anybody have experience with this?

If you're in a small town the options will be slim to none unless they have trucks in their fleet. You could always try uhaul too--they rent out like Ford F150s.

Now if your SO wasn't at fault you might be able to get that rental money from the other insurance company when you tell them why you have to have a truck. I assume he is alright? Elite Veteran Posts: 600 Location: Oklahoma & Texas	Enterprise does..they have large fleet rentals like f250's at their fleet locations...and they also have regular half ton pickups at their every day locations...and depending on if u are filing on your insurance what rental rate u selected because if you are filing on your own insurance you selected a limit and they can't pay more than the limit or if it's someone else's fault their insurance will pay for it if you raise enough heck and they don't usually have a set limit on rental just an overall property damage limit which like in texas is 30k minimum soo you shouldn't be in danger of that..most try to rent just an intermediate size car but if u have a need for a truck just tell em they should put u in something comparable or you'll have a loss of use claim...if no rental chances are you'll qualify for a big discount on one with your insurance carrier with most rental car agencies just ask...also if your vehicle is a total just fyi they won't keep you in a rental for more than a few days...and if your vehicle is repairable make sure you choose a reputable bodyshop with a llifetime guarantee. ..all good shops offer lifetime guarantees. Your insurance carrier probably has some they do direct repairs with those usually come with lifetime guarantees. ..just ask! ! I work for a big insurance carrier as an adjuster supervisor soo i do this every day ;)

The accident wasn't his fault, the other driver ran through a red light and hit him. Insurance went out yesterday to check the truck out so we should hear today if they total it. The truck is at my brother in laws repair shop so we know we will get good work and SO will help do most of the work on it there. My dad has his truck we could use but I sccodently ripped the plug out of it so we can't plug it in and with these temps lately it's not guaranteed to start. We are going to call insurance today to see what we can do. I've just never heard of anyone getting a truck.
