I had a mare that got them periodically. She no longer needed them when I changed her shoeing. It helped her and I could tell a difference, however it has to be in the right place

What did you change?  I have thought for a while he would benefit from wedges.

I have had it done to my horse … worked for him. Like another poster said … shoeing can be an issue. Can also be the way your horse's feet grow, in which case you'd need to monitor shoeing schedule closely.

well when I got her the angles of her feet were negative... But then the wedges/ acrylic/ and hoof pack were to much of a change ( shes in her middle teens) and the packing/ acrylic was not allowing her heels to spread/contract so her feet got sore... then that made her shoulders even more sore (after a period of time due to compensation) SO now shes in a lower wedge with no hoof pack. Sound and went from clocking 4D to the 1D

Yes, the horse was a top hunter, lost his grit. Blocked, ultrasound his shoulder. had a lesion, had an injection and went right back to winning.
