id like my husband to build me a simple 10x12 shelter and he said he'd like a materials list and plan if we can find one. I'd like one we can put a gate on to lock a horse in if necessary. Metal siding as well.

This is as simple as you can get ... price usually includes them setting up on a level pad you have prepared...
buy it with 8 ft legs ... most have gone to 8ft instead of 6 so shop around ..

Make a 12x12 stall out of panels with a metal gate at the front and to the rear section ... or a 12x21 stall with 9 ft for hay and feed storage in the rear ...

Then you can screw 4x8... 3/4 inch plywood on the inner sides for kick boards and run your steel siding on the sides by copying what the builder did... horizontal to the ground ... not vertical ..
They use ground mobile home ground screws to ground the building and I yet to see one of these blow away ...

If you are concerned about wind ... after you put your inside plywood and exterior steel wall up ... just pour you 1-2 ft of ready mix bagged concrete while dry in between the two ... and then wet it down for 3-4 days and let it dry ... no mixing needed ...

If you live in a warm state you can keep an open front stall if you face it east or south .. blowing rain or snow comes from the north or west ... and you can decide if you want the stall in the end or have the stall on the long side just keep east and south in mind .. ... keep at least a 12x12 stall with panels ... square tubing panels if you can find them ... they last longer and openings are closer together so horse does not stick his head thru like the round cow panels ... ...

Raise your pad at least a ft higher than the surrounding ground to prevent flooding ...
use a 10 and 12 ft metal for exterior and 12x12 on the 21ft end ... just overlap them when screwing them to the posts // legs of horseport ... lol

with hubby's muscles and a good .. hand me this and hold this partner ... should take less than a day to complete ...

GOOD LUCK ..

I have two of these. One has withstood 70 mile an hour winds. The other was put up later. Mine are open sided because of the summer Texas heat. I have two stalls in each. Mine are the pitched roof not that rounded roof. Nice neat and up in 3 hours.

Mine  is two sided. 12X12.  We walled the two sides up with 12x12's a little more than half way up.
Tin Roof.  We built it in a weekend.  Gets a good breeze in the summer and keeps them dry and warm in the winter.
With only two walls I don't have to worry about them acting stupid.

Here's the link to one I found on Pinterest a few years back (still good link) with a bunch of pictures and ideas:

Here's one of the pictures from that link -- hopefully you can get ideas off of this!

Here's another link to pictures of one being built -- no measurements but you can at least see the progression they did on building:
