Elite Veteran Posts: 788	Are there really very many? It seems like every 4 year old loping the pattern is advertised as "5 year old futurities eligible." So, besides the fact that these horses are too far behind, All of the futurities I see are for the 4 year olds. Is it better/possible to just enter derbies on the horses that get a later start or aren't mature enough as a 4 year old, instead of trying for the 5 y/o futurities? Veteran Posts: 274	I checked into 5yr old futurities because of lack of time on my part to get my colt ready for 4 yr olds....there are quite a few!!! I was surprised...so if we are ready by early winter that is where I am going with mine.
