I just read the headlines Posts: 4483	I have them. I ride with no problem. They become hot and inflamed at one point, but I wasn't riding then or moving much- I had a desk job. I used an essential oil blend and they went back to "normal" and the slight edema I had went away, enough that my fashion boots that were tight around my calves weren't tight anymore.

Take a Picture Posts: 12842	I just thought had vascular surgery last week--twice. Doctor said take it easy with minimal walking but I did need to get up and move. I go out and feed. Have to walk about half a mile twice a day. Have to wear compression stockings two weeks. I assume riding is OK after two weeks. I have to have a little minor stuff done on Jan 19. Will ask them about riding. Dr Adams, who works at Josey's told me to be sure a vascular surgeon did the procedure. I did. It was a piece for cake.

Veteran Posts: 171	Thank you for the encouragement. I do have surgery scheduled with a vascular surgeon. Just getting a little nervous been wearing the compression stocking about a month now. I can sure tell the difference when I don't were the compression stocking.

Member Posts: 11	Have you had the ultrasound mapping yet? I did this a couple years ago and the surgeon didn't think I warrented a surgery quite yet unless I wanted to do it for cosmetic purposes. I had very little spider veins at that point too. He did, however, find out I had a "vein of Giacomini" which made having the surgery, at least for me, a little more complicated. He instructed me to wear the athletic socks that are between 15-20 and 30-40 compression rating, depending on the activities that day. So, I generally wear the higher compression socks to work and the lower compression ones when I'm off galavanting around. Take a Picture Posts: 12842	The doctor did a quick ultra sound on me but said I should have had this done years ago. I did try (another story). Had a mapping ultrasound a few days before surgery. The doctor used that new procedure with tiny heater on a wire but did have to strip a long vein on one leg. I was ripped at the time and never knew a thing. Neighbor took me over there and we had hamburgers on the way home. I had to ask him where we stopped the next day. Laughing. barely remember eating the burger.
