Location: Bandera, TX | I'm in vacation planning mode, and was wondering how the drive is from Spokane down to the Idaho Falls area? It would just be me and a rent-a-car. I'm hoping to do the horse drive in Idaho again this year, but looking for a scenic drive to get there. Last year I drove back and forth from Salt Lake, which was very nice. Feeling a bit more adventurous this time.
Thank you. |

Location: Spokompton, Wa | The drive from Spokane down to Boise thru Lewiston is pretty and a decent drive. I think that would be your most scenic way. |

| Take the freeway to Missoula and than take the highway towards Salmon. Beautiful trip plus old cowboy towns. |

if you are going to head to Msla first & then down 93, I personally would drop down south in ID first & follow Hwy 12 over to Lolo. THAT is an absolutely beautiful drive! (but you'd be headed considerably east, out of your planned way). If you are wanting more things to see, holler at me, come to NW MT first & I can take you to some of our cool places - such as the Swinging Bridge (cable suspension bridge over the Kootenai River - best not be skeered of heights! LOL) and the Kootenai Falls (where River Wild was filmed AND the scene from The Revenant where Leonardo's double slipped in to the water in the river. Another older movie that was filmed here was Always, out at our airport. |

Thank you Rocky - this sounds great. Probably won't have the extra time for side excursions, if I can make it up there at all. Sounds like a great drive. I will safe this for future reference hopefully.... :) |
