I am going to try to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader so I can get out there to welcome all the contestants.

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day! I'm going to try out with you lol.

Sounds good!  I just hope it's not too cold next year. I don't like to be cold in my cheerleader outfit.

If it wasn't $500 to enter I would live to give it a try. Especially if they do loveland as a qualifier.... my horse loves that pen.

If my horse is sound and we are both healthy, I'll definitely give it a shot! What an amazing experience that would be!!

If I was good enough, I'd try out

I'm pretty sure I can't hang with the pros just yet. So I will save my 500 bucks. Lol

If I still barrel raced, was 50 lbs lighter, had the money, had a good horse, had some fashion sense, had a rich sugar daddy.......

Honestly, I think it would be super cool to do! Go get'em girls!

Another thing to remember is that if you get to the semis-and they especially all the way to the American-you had better be riding a rodeo horse.   As much noise and commotion going on-a super nice jp 1d horse that hasn't been around that kind of stuff is not going to have much chance against  a seasoned rodeo horse.
It looked to me like reading through the people that won at the qualifiers-a lot of them were riding really nice horses but not RODEO horses.  JMO

I would love it if they made it a yearly event. I don't have a horse right now ready to go but have a couple youngsters I have high hopes for in a few years. I can't wait to start them next spring and work on them. I miss competing and would try just for the adventure!

SKM - 2014-03-03 6:28 AM I am kicking myself for not pushing Hope last year to qualify. This year, you can bet momma won't make that mistake again, lol!

Last year, Hope wasn't willing to pay the fee. Plus the college rodeo at Sheridan was the same weekend as the Loveland qualifier. I already plan on having her talk to her rodeo coach about the dilemma.
She needs to for sure!  That little horse can hang with anyone.  If I had the horse, I'd be trying to get there.

V, if only they would have had this in the Spanky and Rambo days...

GOBABYGO - 2014-03-03 12:44 PM Anyone know what qualifying races for the American  in 2014?

Same races as 2013?

Qualifiers have not yet been determined.  Once they are they will be announced.  Hoping for the same as last year!

I really think you should make sure that WHEN you get it... you make sure your dates don't conflict with the College Rodeo dates *hint hint* *nudge nudge* *wink wink*.

Which is why I am even more excited, because my horse excels in the rodeo scene more than she does at a 5D….
