I think it all depends on the occasion. I think with my mare when I have an apple or a banana or fill in the blank she's like "please mom! I love bananas!" Then when it comes to being ridden it is more of "dammit, I didn't want to do this today. Don't you see all that grass I could be eating!?" But she's really pretty good about that any ways. Then on the rare occasion something happens and I end up on the ground she looks like "what ya doing down there???" And if we tip a barrel it is like "oh crud that wasn't supposed to happen...will it be okay mommy?" Sorry but that is just my take on my horse. I think they have emotions kind of like humans and I think they cuss in their own language but I think they are far more forgiving generally and I don't think looks make much difference to them unless it's a plastic bag. :
)But this is just my opinion from the horses I have been around.
