I'm still new to this saddle game, even after 8+ years of horses...I'm getting the horse fit thing kind of figured out, but read an ad for a Double J Pro barrel saddle (not Pozzi), and it said that they have a larger "thigh" area. So, from what I read a 14" seat fits more like a 14.5" seat? Is this typical of Double J saddles?  Any other brands have different sizing as well? Thanks!

ETA: We don't have a Double J saddlery dealer in our area, so I don't have an opportunity to go check one out. Closest thing we have is a Cactus and Circle Y dealer, I believe.

I have never actually rode in a Double J, so just take my experience with a grain of salt.. lol

I am a 15" in Billy Cook & Martin Crown C.  I sat in some Pozzi's (unfortunantely not the version you're looking at) and if I were to buy a Pozzi I would go with a 14.5" seat.  It fit me perfectly and was suprised that I was getting away in a 14.5".

Thanks! I'm getting ideas...so far I have been able to afford "good" brands of saddles (Courts, Circle Y) and both those brands fit similarly, but am wanting to save up and buy a "really good" brand, as from my last saddle question it seems may fit me and my horse's style better. I'm still learning. :

You know I really like my Double J's I have 3 of them but need to sell one cause its just a tad to wide for me {fits my horse great}, but I think they are kinda over priced, cause of a certain pro's name, I really like my Crown C and Caldwell. Have you checked out the Crown C's? The only thing I wish I could change on the C is I would like a taller horn, my hands are big and I cant wrap my hand around theres.

I have looked into the Crown C's...and I'm not too picky between them and the Double J's...have also looked into Sibleys. What little I have found is that almost every Caldwell I see (used even) is way above what I can justify any time in the near future. The Crown C's and the Double J's and the Sibleys are starting to get near what I can afford. Thanks for your info, Southtxponygirl! :

I had a Double J Pro customed made and I love it...I went to a 15" seat since by behind is not as small as it used to be and I love all the room.  Mine is the brown vintage style with rough out fenders and a faux gator looking seat, I had upgraded conchos and the Latricia Duke cantle (no extra charge)...it is more like a ranch cutter or cutter cantel put on my saddle and it was reasonably priced...fortunately I live about 2 1/2 hours from there so I got to go and look at all the different conchos, hide for seat, etc. and sit in the different trees they have.. they were great to work with.  I did not have a lot to spend, but got what I wanted in my price range.
