Location: midwest mama	I wanted to see if anyone has purchased a bear trap saddle from A1 Saddlery (Gerald Bethune)? If so, how was the quality? I'm thinking about getting one but wanted to hear from some people who already have one. Thanks!

Regular Posts: 67 Location: TN	I bought one 10 years ago. Bear-trap, completely rough out. Love it, one of my favorite saddles to ride. Unfortunately it only fits my 1/2 TB gelding and none of my foundation horses. Holding up well after 10 years of use, the first 6 years it was my main saddle. I'm a Cry Baby Posts: 3781 Location: n.c.	I've had two. Bought the first one brand new. Semi bars, so it did not fit alot. Still going strong after 15 years. The current one I have is the same age. Full quarter bars. Ride in it 3 to 4 times a week. Do everything in it. Also use it for the little kids when they come to ride. Less likely to come out. They hold you in great but you can come out if the need arises. Have loved both of mine. Did want to say that this second one fits a wide variety of horses. Edited by runningk 2014-10-04 8:07 AM

Extreme Veteran Posts: 550	I like mine, and it has fit a lot of different horses. I think the quality is great for the price, I like mine better than I liked my old Circle Y.
