| What supplements do you give your senior retired horses to keep them feeling their best? I have a mare who is 16 who is retired and after years of pulling steers and running she has some arthritis in her hocks and knees. |

Location: NE TX | I have a 30+ year old that from the time he was 22 I've had him on Senior Feed, some form of joint supplement (simple equipride, to expensive stuff like Platinum and SmartPak, ect.) and he seems the same on it either way. He moves around fine and gets around fine. Right now I have him on a new product from Absorbine (makers of showsheen) Bute-less and it's basically a natural bute that isn't as hard on their stomachs. It comes in a pellet, paste, or liquid form. He has been doing really good on it in combination with Aloe Vera Juice which is supposed to help with arthritis and such.
Good Luck. |

Location: Where I am happiest | Platinum Performance CJ! It has made a world of difference in our 3 retiree's. The oldest is 31 and she dispite having fractured a sesamoid and tearing a suspensory thinks she is still 10 on P.P. CJ. |

Location: Arkansas | I have a 36 year old that gets Purina Sr feed, beet pulp, Platinum Healthy Weight oil, and Platinum CJ----he acts like he's 3. Bucks and kicks and talks at feeding time. No one can believe how great he looks and acts. Platinum has been a Godsend. He's worth every dime. (Dan has no teeth, but he has access to hay also.) Can't say enough good things about the company. |
