Location: So. Cali. | Have a friend with a younger gelding who has developed what appears to be a respiratory issue of some sort. Xrays and Scope have been done, currently coming off a long dose of vet prescribed shots, but still isnt 100%. Will be taking him in soon to do a final exam to see if he possibly has some sort of inflammatory airway diesase. Interested in hearing anyones input, experiences, supplements/care that has worked best, etc.

| Been there done that!!!! I started Curost Total Care in August and my horse no longer needs Steroids, Ventipulman, His hay soaked, allergy shots. All GONE... I even keep my colt on it for prevention so he never has to suffer with that stuff.

Location: NE Texas | Check out the Cur-OST post on the product research forum. There is also a great forum on Facebook called the allergic horse forum where several of us have shared. I had exhausted all options through the 4 vets I went to and spent thousands of dollars and my horse continued to worse to the point he was in complete respiratory distress. In 2 weeks he went from a horse who couldn't take a deep enough breath to cough to a horse back to exercising. In 30 days I was back to riding him. Yes, I tried all that is out there. My full story can be read on the product research forum. I will attach pictures of my horse. First pic is March 24 before starting the Cur-OST products. Second pic is April 25. Proof is in the puddin for me.

| Well I am going to be the odd man out. I have not had these amazing results that everyone else has had with curost. First off I have had to disguise it in everything to get her to eat it ( she is not picky) and still having to give ventipulmin, maybe my horse is just to far gone. |

Well I am going to be the odd man out. I have not had these amazing results that everyone else has had with curost. First off I have had to disguise it in everything to get her to eat it ( she is not picky) and still having to give ventipulmin, maybe my horse is just to far gone.
I had issues the first few days with getting my horse to eat it, but started with only a half to 1 scoop of each product and would dump whatever he didn't finish on top of his next meal. In a few days (less than a week) he was licking his bucket. At that time I started the full loading dose so as not to waste the product. The first couple of weeks, it could seem your horse is worse, as the mucous and phlegm is going to loosen and there is only 1 way to get it out, and that is by coughing, so it's normal to see increased coughing for a little bit. It will improve. It could be possible that you're treating for copd rather than iad, as they are different conditions (one is a wet condition with lots of mucous and the other is a dry condition with no mucous) and require different product to treat based on which condition you're dealing with. That is why I encourage everyone to either contact the company before ordering or post in the forum at www.secondvet.com. these respiratory issues are difficult to figure out because the symptoms are so similar. If improvement isn't there in 2 weeks, there are absolutely other options, as we may be dealing with iad rather than copd. |
