I want to make some candles. I've been watching youtube videos but would prefer to "talk" with someone who has done this themselves, can give recommendations for types of wax, scents, wicks, etc.

To much work I would rather just buy them all ready to burn, lol..

We used to! It was really easy. We used soy wax, melted it in a measuring cup in the microwave, mixed in color and scent and poured it into mason jars! I wish I could remember the name of the website we used to order from but I can't.

So much work... A lot of fun... But it wasn't fun enough to do that often because the candle still gets a little black and dusty with use and age.

The videos on youtube look pretty easy, just like you described. In one video she said she bought everything at Hobby Lobby. I know there are candle making stores online you can order from but wasn't sure if going to HL would be easiest while I get my feet wet.

This brings back memories ! We used to make candles for our mothers for Christmas at school lol those teachers must have been saints to turn the whole room into a candle factory(early 60's) We used the block parraifin and old crayons for color. We poured the hot melted wax into paper milk cartons that could be peeled away when the wax hardened. Some of the prettiest were with half gallon cartons filled with ice cubes then pour the hot wax over. The ice melts and leaves holes and caverns that glow as the candle burns. Gosh you made me remember all that fun
