Location: MI | So, Wednesday I found this bump on the inside of my horses left front leg. It was hard, no heat, no limp that I noticed. I did ride him (yes, I'm an idiot) Wed pm, with no heat, no limp noticed. Cold hosed afterwards.
He is turned out 24/7, but wasn't ridden yesterday. Today it seems down a little bit. I put some runners relief on this morning because I had it, and put him out. I did take a video of him trotting today: https://youtu.be/WCCbzYxo-3k.
I have texted my vet. Just looking for other thoughts & experiences as well.

| Yep, I would say that is a splint. I had one get splints on both front legs and the vet put his magic potion on there and they just disappeared. they have never come back. He would not tell me what he put on there. |

Location: Georgia | DO these bother horses? I have a 5yo in right now that has a pretty good sized one on one leg. It doesn't seem to bother her, shes had it since I got her. |

Splints are very common. I would just cold hose it for the next 7-10 days and then start back riding. As long as the heat/swelling is gone, you should be fine. |

Yes very common. As long as its not hot and no swelling I would not worry about it. Now if was still sore to the touch and has heat, then cold hose it and ask your vet for the best treatmen for it, but hard and no heat no problem. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Back in the old days if it was fresh and sore we would have splints pinfired if it was on a working/track horse.
