How did you know your horse was having kidney or liver problems? What were their symptoms? What tests did the vet run to diagnose them?

Has anyone use silver lining herbs or uva ursi to cleanse kidney and remove stones with good results?

Thanks!

I run a bag of the SLH Kidney threw my horses a few times a year. It made a big difference on my old gelding.

Equine Natural Care Liver, Kidney, and/or Digestive support herbs have made a world of difference in my mare with liver problems. Blood work showed her liver had been put through the ringer when she decided to eat on pepper trees.

We found out my mare had kidney stones in her left kidney after she passed a large amount of blood urinating after a lesson. A bladder stone was diagnosed by a rectal exam, took her to UC Davis for bladder stone surgery and had her bladder and kidney's ultrasounded, found the left kidney with multiple stones in it, right kidney was clear. Vet's felt that the bladder surgery was a waste of time and money for her seeing as the real issue was the kidney's. Horses kidney's are too deep to do the shockwave, ultrasound break up of stones like in humans. I took her home and after some research put her on Equine Natural Care Kidney, Lymph and Immune Herbs, as well as some essential oils and an oil called Chanca Peidra. Pulled her off all NSAID's, alfalfa of any kind and had Bio Scan treatments done on her about once a week starting in late August as she seemed to urinate much more freely for about 5 days after a treatment. In late October she really started to struggle to urinate and we decided to have the bladder stone removed regardless of the kidney. The vets were stunned November 18th when they ultra sounded her kidneys again to find only 2 stones in the left kidney and the 2 small bladder stones that were there along with the very large one were also gone. She had the bladder stone surgery the next day.
I have continued to follow pretty much the same protocols on her for the last 1.5 years, ENC kidney herb, no NSAIDs, very little if any alfalfa and a lot of electrolytes as well as ACV added to her feed. The heat this summer has been a little tough on her, 108+ for 2 weeks. I went with the ENC herbs over the Silver Lining herbs because when asked for they gave me a list of herbs and what they were in the mix for where as Silver Linings response was "We can make no claims. We recommend #37 for your mare..." I wanted to know what I was putting in her and why, not asking for guarentees, I felt I got that from ENC and we had good results with them.

I haven't in a while but I need to.  Kidney support cleared up some stocking up that I was dealing with.
