I am wanting to try a few rodeos since been doing really good at jackpots. Been bout 15 years since I rodeoed! I am looking up rodeos and I see a lot on Mondays and Tuesdays! I understand like the sanctioned rodeos or the pro rodeos but the open rodeos??? and it is not even a holiday! I miss the rodeo calendar that used to be printed on a long sheet! like I said I am way behind in times!

I don't get how folks can stay at jackpots until 11 or 12 during the week either - I have to get up and go to WORK in the morning!

Around here anyway this time of year most rodeos are associated with a county fair. Rodeo is during the week because a concert is the big weekend draw...
We will be gone next Tues-Wed-Thursday at weekday rodeos. My life is sponsored by coffee and 5 hr Energy this time of year.

We have a local rodeo series on Friday nights. They struggle getting contestants and quality contestants. Reason being that everyone who does ok goes where there is added money on the weekends. We used to have a Tuesday night series and that was always a great rodeo. Everyone came to make some quick money during the week without having to go far.

Do you have a flyer or more info on the Bandera deals? That sounds like a great place to get a horse seasoned to the rodeo deal. How is the ground? In my younger days I used to run in a nightly summer rodeo deal up at Billings, MT and the ground was not so good lol.

Oh yeah, if you want to season one to the rodeo atmosphere, this one is loud and the crowds when we went were enthusiastic! My daughter loved running there. Cool place, good food, good music.
