I tried Xxterra and the human cream for genital warts and got no results. I decided to just have it cut out. The surgery was done Saturday.There is a chance he may not come back sound, although he doesn’t even act like it bothers. Has anyone else dealt with this? I will attach before and after pictures 

OUCH!!!! I'm sure your vet knows what they are doing but I love XXterra for Sarcoids. One that size would take a LONG time to get it out but hind sight is 2020. You would be amazed how well horses heal!!! Might take some time but looks like it will heal. 

My daughter horse has one on her neck.  It was the size of a grape.  I have been putting Crest toothpaste on it for about 4 months now and it is about gone. 

  Was this confirmed to be a sarcoid via biopsy?

my vet is doing injections of regression for sarcoids around the face and lymphnode area. 

I have not had a sarcoid cut out though we had a mare with one over her eye and it eventually went away on its own. I have had a couple horses with a wound area that size from a cut or something in that exact area heal very well with just a small line for a scar. Assuming sarcoid does t come back, it should heal up fine. 

Thank you for the reassuring words. How long should I expect before I can ride him again? He is my only horse and one heck of a barrel horse. Today he is pretty sore on it.

I didn’t have it  biopsied. It has been there for years it just got irritated or something around January and started growing again. I had to make the call of cutting it out or it may have cut his blood supply off to his foot. Just hoping I made the right choice
