SOS!! Anyone who has had a herniated/bulging disk -- what did you do to make it better?? I am absolutely sure horseback riding is not a recommended activity, but that's not going away unless it is for a short time to rehab this biotch. I need some physical therapy to get me through at least this next weekend! Best exercises/stretches, acceptable level of drug use for my upcoming show, etc.

I won't do chiro - but might consider massage. Even with that I don't need a casual 'feel good' massage. With how much pain that is involved I wouln't let anyone touch me that isn't medically trained. *I* can't even touch half my back now without feeling slightly nauseous. |

Get in with a good physical therapist. I have been out of the salle for about a year due to two herniated discs in the lower back. I've tried two different chiros, acupunture, drugs, etc, and PT helps the most. You can google yoga poses and stretches and get a good place to start. A PT will give you stretches, too. Make sure your PT has a traction table. That's helped me more than anything. Also I was told that Advil liquid gels are the best pain killer to take when I started getting numbness in my left leg due to the nerve damage in the spine. Take two with each meal for ten days to reduce imflammation. Obivously I'm NOT a doctor, but I can tell you the things that helped me.

My husband has 3 herniated discs in his knee. He’s had them injected twice. Hurt himself a few weeks ago and was in really rough shape. I hate to be one of “those” people...but after about 5 days on NFR2, he stopped hurting. He stopped taking it for a few days and regressed. Started back on it, good again in 12 hours.

I take the NFR2 every day. Can't say that it completely takes the pain away, it helps but what I found works the best for my lower back is I got a traction belt. You pump it up and wear it for about 30 minutes to an hour. I usually do this before I go to bed and it has allowed me to sleep without low back pain.
