First off, please do not ever let anyone tell you that you cannot get great makeup for a great price. I have a good mixture of high end and drugstore, but every product I use is outstanding,

I highly suggest anything from the maybeline fit me line. All of maybelines concealers are amazing as well. The better skin(blue tube), fit me(black lid), and  age rewind(red lid) are my favorites. The fit me powder foundation is also very nice. Also try the baby skin pore primer before putting any makeup on, this will work wonders and it is great for filling pores.

Loreal has great foundations, the lumi foundation is good if you have dry skin, the pro matte foundation is good for oily skin.

Milani also has an amazing foundation called conceal & perfect but it is FULL coverage.

Go to the makeup brush section and find the real techniques brand. They have a beauty spone that works great. To use it, run it under water and squeeze until the sponge puffs up all the way then dry the sponge off so it is only a little damp. lightly pat in concealer and foundation with this. You can also use this to set powder on your face. As far as drug store brushes I wouldn't stray away from real techniques. If you want cheap quality brushes you will need to order them online from Morphe(they are the best).

NYC also has a nice bb cream and so does loreal

scwebster - 2016-09-01 12:10 PM Try NYX products from Ulta. They are at a low price point but a very nice quality. They do not test on animals either, which I love. What kind of coverage do you prefer? Light, medium/full?

From walmart I have used Loreal Paris Infallible Pro Matte foundation and liked it. It has staying power. I was also a fan of Neutrogena Healthy Skin.

Now I buy higher end cruelty free makeup (Mostly from Ulta). It is not all expensive. Check them out online.

I do like Bare Minerals (be sure to buy a primer to put on before your foundation. It makes it last longer and go on smoother) A finishing spray can also prolong wear. You can buy these in all different price points.

I currently use Born This Way foundation by Too Faced. Its $38 but the quality is very nice. Annd I make it last a while.

For those of you looking to Contour.. I am adding link to a cheaper contour palette from ulta that you can try to get you started. I have it and am impressed with the quality/price. Im also adding a link to a video to show you how to do it.

Does BM make a primer to go with their mineral foundation?

Yes they do :) see link below. They also have a liquid version of their foundation if youd prefer that over the loose mineral foundation.

Thank you so much---I'll be ordering some of that soon.

So, those of you that do use cheaper brands, how do you find a color?  I am lousy at that.  Hard to look at it and tell, so how do you match your skin?  I am want to try something waterproof. (in a foundation)

I just purchased the TruBlend foundation and actually really like it. I found it smooth with good coverage without caking.

I hate spending money on expensive makeup because Id rather spend it elsewhere but I went ahead and ordered younique after I tried it. Absolutely LOVE it, it is so light yet lasts while you sweat.

Test a little on the underside of your wrist. If it matches there it should match your face. Some people like to go one shade darker than what matches the wrist.

I match to my neck.  Sometimes you can hold it up and see what matches best.  It is a struggle.  I go to Ulta where they take returns.

I'm really happy with Younique.  Remember that the type of product (more so than brand of product) makes a big difference in your results for each person and skin type.  I use different types for winter than I do for summer, etc.  And a good primer does wonders!
