| One of the great challenges believers face is the battle over what will guide us in religious matters, the Bible or tradition.
The most important battle is over the path to salvation. Proverbs 14:12 says, " There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end in the way of death." Too many , being a good person is the way to please God and earn heaven. But the Bible is clear that salvation is a free gift and that cannot earn our way to heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith......not of words."
Probably the next greatest area of controversy is worship style. Worship style has been , and still is,a source of disagreement among Christians. Should worship be quiet, reflective, and reverent? Or should it be loud and celebratory? someone has called Psalms the hymn book of the Israelites. And in Psalms, we see both types of worship! Psalms speaks repeatedly of singing a "new song" of responding loud, of lifting hands, and in Psalm 47, all the people are instructed to clap our hands and shout.
Don't focus on style as much as on fact that the psalmist repeatedly tells us the reasons for worshiping God. The psalmist says that God is awesome, that He is over all the earth, and that He gives victory in battle, therefore, we should sing praises to Him. In fact , five times he says we should sing praises to God!
Are you facing spiritual battles today? Satan is not happy that you have become a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Peter tells us that the devil is our adversary and that he is trying to devour us. But your God not only gives His people victory over human foes but also over our greatest foe! You are more than a conqueror through Cist who gives you strength and you have a song to sing!
PRAISE God you don't have to have a good voice ; you only have to have a song! SING PRAISES TO GOD!
Psalm 47:1-7 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. He will subdue the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet He will choose our inheritance for us, the excellence of Jacob whom he loves. God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding.

| I loved this message. I am one that worships both ways....loud and proud with clapping and shouting, and sometimes quiet and reserved! One my earliest memories from Sunday School or vacation bible school was making a tamborine from 2 paper plates put together, uncooked macaroni inside, fastenened together by sewing them with colored yarn....decorated on the outside with markers. Then we learned...MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD!!!! :)
