Looking at putting my horse on a MSM supplement just for a natural anti-inflammatory. Is there ayone who does this? Pros/Cons? Nothing is wrong with my mare just as a preventative for long weekends of barrel racing.

A lot of people use it because it's cheap but I've also heard that in the oral supplement, the horse actually doesn't get much from it.

So I'm not sure. Try it and see if you can notice a difference maybe.

I feed it. I think it helps. MSM is better absorbed than other joint supplements and it's pretty cheap, so I use it along with other things.

I went to my local feed store the other day to buy another jar of MSM and found out that they have moved it behind the counter...  I had to give them my ID to purchase it.  Turns out people buy it to stretch meth.....

I think it is beneficial for horses and cheap.

I'm not sure. I used to use it, for about 5 years until someone asked me if I had seen any difference. I took my horse off and didn't really notice a difference from when the horse was on it to when it was off. So I don't know, maybe it help with preventative stuff.

I read somewhere that MSM is hard on the stomach and maybe linked to ulcers because of how it was made something because it was made from DMSO. I dunno if there is any truth to it because I know you can get it 99% pure to where there is a very minute chance it will hurt the stomach but I've avoided it for this reason.

The Animal Element supplement Equine Performance Detox, has made a huge difference in my horse, and like you nothing was wrong. I just wanted to make it more comfortable for the longer trips and events. It has both HA + MSM. I have seen a positive difference.
