| Long story short …. not sure if its the MVP, so I'm asking to see if anyone has had this experience.
My horse is essentially a rescue horse … came from an abusive situation way back when. I've owned him for about 3 years now. I knew this going in. We've had our ups and downs. He's has his quirks that I attribute to his treatment … he's never gotten over them … (that's an entirely different story). A month ago, I started him on MVP Exceed … he was looking a little rough around the edges and needed more weight. I had him on Platinum a couple of years ago and he became a mean fire breathing machine, so that was out of the question. 30 days later .. he LOOKS significantly better but today .. he wouldn't let me put the saddle on him. Snorty! I got the saddle pad on and went to put the saddle on and he pulled back. I always have to move deliberately and quietly around this horse .. This time he took one look at the saddle and as I was lifting it up … he pulled back, and got loose and ran back toward the barn and stopped and waited for me. Took him back to try to saddle again and I couldn't even get the pad on him. I finally took him to the round pen.
I'm wondering if he's seeing monsters because he's feeling so good? Has anyone had this experience with Exceed? I'm to the point of giving up. (There's a lot of other things contributing to my discouragement with this horse) … but seriously … anyone have something like this happen??

| I've not had that experience, but I only have 1 horse on it. That being said, I did notice him working better, feeling better, and to some extent that meant being a little bit of a booger. But not a 180 in personality.
Is his feed balanced otherwise? I guess after you have the experience on 2 supplements that are somewhat comparable I'd be inclined to wonder if he was overly sensitive to something in them. |

Location: IL | I love Exceed 6-way! The only thing I can say bad about it is the price. If I had the money I would put all my horses on it. The only thing that comes to mind when you are describing this horse and his back ground, it ulcers....I would make sure it's not ulcers because that will make a horse totally different. Every horse is different but cinchy is a tell tale sign. They might have just gotten out of control. Exceed has digestive ingredients in it but it will not cure an existing ulcer. JMO |

Location: Where I am happiest | I dont know anything about the Exceed as I have never fed it. However, my daughters colt went through the EXACT same thing! He got to be a real bugger to saddle and pulling back. She had about had it with him. It was her saddle fit. She bought a new saddle with a wider gullet and all those shennanigans disapeared. |

| Ulcers are suspected.
Saddle might be an issue … its a Sibley and he was running awesome at the end of May (the last time I ran him). Sent off out of the heat for summer. Ridden 2x a week since Mid November … I've been having back issues since I started riding again … wondering if its the saddle. I don't have another one to try though. Hmmm.

| If you are having back issues, that might be part of the problem. Last week I hurt my back riding, but I thought I would ride it out. I couldn't sit the trot, I had to stand up, I couldn't post either. My horse got really tense and upset. That is not him at all at home. Got my spine back in line and we good again. |

That's what my chiropractor thought … she said I might be sitting just slightly off .. not noticeable but enough that he notices it.

| I'm thinking he's sore … and it just might be the saddle (after discussing with my mom who's never ridden but watched all of her kids ride). The last time I rode, he was LAZY and kept putting this head down like (i'm thinking to stretch his back). I thought he was wanting to buck! Gonna call the chiropractor. My poor husband (non-horsey husband) is gonna think I'm crazy if I "need" another saddle. |
